Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan language maps

• File:Azerilanguage.png (original 2006 upload; only 2013 POV reupload now visible. See logs.)
• File:Azerilanguagetr.png (2008 Turkish translation)
• File:Azerbaijanilanguage.png (2010 POV fork)
• File:Azerilanguage-ar.png (2011 Arabic translation of 2010 version (I think))
• File:AzerbaijanianTurkish.png (2012 POV fork)
• File:Azeri language.png (2015 upload by original uploader of 2006 version)

Most, if not all, of these files should be deleted. All but one of these will be dishonest manipulations of the original map. All have been subject to long-running edit wars, with versions of each fluctuating endlessly. I assume that whenever a file is protected, this spawns the creation of a new map with more or less red according to political/ethnic/religious/linguistic persuasion. There are now dozens of different versions of this map. The resulting mess is an abuse of Commons. Parishan was the original uploader of the 2006 version and the 2015 version. Perhaps they can advise on which (if any) of the currently available versions or reversions is (closest to) the original, where the image came from originally, and whether they agree that the different variations leave much to be desired. N.B. also that Commons:Deletion requests/File:Azerilanguage.png already exists (for other reasons) for one of these (the original 2006 file). (Ideally the discussion could be merged somehow?) That request was made Rohalamin, whom I ping here. GPinkerton (talk) 17:26, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
