2D Murals in Dublin

[edit]

2D graphic paintings fail Commons:FOP Ireland (which is based on COM:FOP UK) and breach copyright. Those nearer the bottom end of this list, say after Dublin City Graffiti 9.jpg, might pass {{De minimis}} in which case files should be so marked. These all appear to be artwork and not graffiti apart arguably from the last. This set has been derived out of the category Category:Murals in Dublin.--Djm-leighpark (talk) 07:15, 25 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: Although I've made the nomination I would be as pleased as anyone if the decision to keep stands as I've been specifically avoiding transferring images of wall art from Flickr, indeed I would gone to (or alighted at) Bray station on Wednesday last to get some images of the wall art there including IKB (IKB is maybe a tad controversial in my book in an Irish context but that's an off-wiki debate). I do actually have a photo of that image of IKB but its no so great quality through a train window). If I'd have come across the Halappanavar earlier in the deletion nomination process I would have asked first but for practical purposes I'd got to a commit point in the nomination. Pinging @Bastun, Ebelular, and MB-one: who were on the Halappanavar discussion/close. Please note I would prefer there is no speedy keep, the reason is I'd want to be very, very sure of the decision to avoid resource in uploading images that need to be deleted. If this is kept I'd also like a comment added to Commons:Copyright rules by territory/Ireland#Freedom of panorama as the situation Northern Island is different and these images would I believe not be permitted. What I'd like is clarity and certainty for everybody. Thankyou. -- Djm-leighpark (talk) 21:43, 25 July 2022 (UTC) Jut to add, given examination of Ww2censor's reasoning, I anticipate withdrawing this nomination after 3 August 2022 07:15 if there are no supporting comments/!votes for delete by that point. Also be aware I have been looking at the images on Bray station and and least a proportion (including IKB) are made of mosaic 3D tiles and I may be transferring those to commons with immediate effect if relevant as these are therefore outside the scope of this deletion effect. 00:09, 27 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  •  I withdraw my nomination: As I commented earlier, the combination of the Halappanavar discussion result and Ww2censor comments and lack of any support for my deletion nomination I feel its withdrawal is the appropriate thing to do. (Actually in some ways I am rather pleased as I am now in a position to upload mural paintings from Bray Daly station as opposed to merely the replacement mosaics ... for starters and other images may follow). I remain minded that if these murals would have been in Belfast not Dublin the situation there would have been different and nomination as things stand would be appropriate (and to a degree I wish it wasn't). My apologies for and distress this nomination may have caused. Thankyou. Djm-leighpark (talk) 10:58, 3 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: per nomination - Murals are not "works of artistic craftsmanship" and therefore FoP does not apply. .     Jim . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 21:38, 28 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
