- Please make a test run. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:22, 5 November 2016 (UTC)
- Done --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 16:12, 5 November 2016 (UTC)
- Erm, that was one of the files my bot will be processing... ★ Poké95 01:29, 6 November 2016 (UTC)
- Strange thing, how did INC get in there? Oh, enuf meat for ten bots on this removal. Since you run as well, I'll start from the bottom of the list, meaning Z-A.
- INC used VFC to remove UW's category from files. Well, if INC made a lot of edits in this task, then it is not good since VFC is editing faster than an average bot (100 epm), which would flood users' watchlists. That's why we use AWB, to control our bots (even though I would like a faster epm than 20-30 epm). ★ Poké95 02:27, 6 November 2016 (UTC)

- I think will be good idea to combine internationalization and removing of category.
- Edit summaries should be shortened. Probably reference to task should be enough.

- Please elaborate why the category has to be removed at all. Has there been any previous discussion? --Krd 07:18, 6 November 2016 (UTC)
- Aye, Commons:Categories for discussion/2016/08/Category:Uploaded with UploadWizard --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 12:24, 6 November 2016 (UTC)
- Great. I support this task. --Krd 12:27, 6 November 2016 (UTC)

@EugeneZelenko: Summary like Removing Category:Uploaded with UploadWizard and general cleanup this? I added most of the tasks mentioned here: Com:Regex. The only I can't seem to get right with AWB is adding == {{int:filedesc}} ==. --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 15:19, 6 November 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, something like that. May be using link to category. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:54, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
- Support. Yes, please! --Steinsplitter (talk) 15:42, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
- @EugeneZelenko: One single test run: File:0317jfCamachiles Bical Chapel School Roads City Pampangafvf 24.JPG Summary so OK? Task approved? --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 02:55, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
- Summary didn't reflect actual clean-up. Both category removal and other cleanups were mentioned, but only first was performed. It's also long for case for category. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:53, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
- As this is a large job, I suggest to keep the request open for at least 7 days. I'm also still thinking if running this at 3-6 edits/min is the best choice. Some people need to see bot edits on their watchlist, and I personally prefer to have this done more quickly to get rid of watchlist spam. How long does take for the whole job when run at 3-6 edits/min? --Krd 08:45, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
- OK, no problem with that. Whoops. One bot with ~ 32k hours at 5 edits/min. No sleep till Brooklyn, it seems... --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 10:59, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
- IMO, this bot should be run at 12-20 epm for these kind of non-priority tasks. I don't see a need to use a high speed for this task and would quickly flood users' watchlists (bot edits are not hidden in watchlists by default). This is also to make supervising the bot easier. ★ Poké95 12:00, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
- If the numbers are correct it will still take one year at 20epm. I don't want to have it on my watchlist every day until xmas 2017. IMO it should be run at full speed (after enough tests, and to be determined how fast that actually is), or not at all. --Krd 12:14, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
- It will take one year if there's only one bot working on 10 million files with a speed of 20 epm, but there are already ten bots working at this (including this one and my bot), so the duration will be lower. If you are worried about your watchlist, you may hide bot edits in your preferences, and we can also request a change in Phabricator by hiding bot edits by default and forcing all watchlists to hide bot edits until the UW category is emptied, both changes only for Commons. ★ Poké95 11:21, 9 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Hedwig in Washington: I suggest running it a full speed in a combination with mw:Manual:Maxlag parameter which should cause no disruption. This task is yet part of YaCBot (Special:Contributions/YaCBot), so you can compile the code and running it. If you need help with compiling & running it on labs let me know. --Steinsplitter (talk) 12:04, 9 November 2016 (UTC)

- Eugene, I made a bubu. This would be the summary for the removal: Cleanup, removing [[Commons:Categories for discussion/2016/08/Category:Uploaded with UploadWizard|Category:Uploaded with UploadWizard]] Makes it a bunch shorter and has a wikilink. --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 17:29, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
Can anybody please summarize the result of the above? Do we have a plan, or what has still to be discussed? --Krd 15:15, 10 November 2016 (UTC)
- Well, I am fine if the edit speed would be at full speed, I am just stating my opinion. ★ Poké95 10:59, 11 November 2016 (UTC)
- As other bots are already active with this task, I see no reason to delay this any longer. Approved. --Krd 07:49, 12 November 2016 (UTC)
