Operator: Multichill (talk) (and hopefully more maintainers later on)

Bot's tasks for which permission is being sought: No new tasks here. Just moving tasks from BotMultichill (talk · contribs) and BotMultichillT (talk · contribs) so I can use this account in a Multi-maintainer project at the Toolserver. For example edits see the contributions of these bots.

1. Tag uncategorized files with {{subst:Unc}} (currently done by BotMultichill (talk · contribs))
2. Notify users of uncategorized uploads (currently done by BotMultichillT (talk · contribs))
3. Categorize files based on gallery information (currently done by BotMultichillT (talk · contribs))
4. Categorize files based on usage at Wikipedia (currently done by BotMultichill (talk · contribs))

Automatic or Manually Assisted: Automatic unsupervised

Edit type (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): First task continuous, other three once a day

Maximum edit rate (eg edits per minute): About 15 per minute

• Splitting this out and moving it to Toolserver as a multimaintainer project is goodness. Are test runs needed after the split just to make sure all is well? No other concerns or objections. ++Lar: t/c 16:14, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
  • The actual migration is just commenting things out in one crontab and adding it to another crontab. No test runs needed for that. Multichill (talk) 16:57, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

      • I don't have to break up code because all the tasks are already separate programs. All programs are either in pywikipedia svn or my own toolserver svn so I can just do a checkout to get the up to date programs. Multichill (talk) 14:44, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

• I'm not too convinced about its name. How about "MC CategorizationBot"? People might already confuse BotMultiChill with Category-bot (e.g. User talk:Multichill#Category-Bot should notify the author, not an image-editor, a discussion about BotMultiChill). With the new name, it might even be worse. Maybe a notice on each bot's talk page would do. -- User:Docu at 17:44, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

• Task 2 is done badly. The bot "warns" much too late, after the problem has already been solved (28276159) and doesn't sign (28276629). It is good to give people time to solve problems, but it is bad to just assume they didn't and warn them anyway. Erik Warmelink (talk) 20:05, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
