About {{Diffusion by condition}}
[edit]@DenghiùComm: {{Diffusion by condition}} only works when there are more than 200 files in a category, which is not the case right now. And then the category also appears in Category:Categories requiring temporary diffusion, which is overcrowded at the moment. {{CatDiffuse}} ensures that a category always appears in Category:Categories requiring temporary diffusion, even when it has no files at all. That is not desirable: it is a problem for editors maintaining that list. See Commons:Categories for discussion/2023/06/Category:Categories requiring temporary diffusion for more information.

@JopkeB: I understand the problem of Commons. But I don't agree with the 200 file limit. This is fine for large categories such as the city of Rome, Florence, Naples, but it is an excessive limit for important categories that concern artists and their works, or some archaeological sites, or the coinage of particular peoples or ages, etc. Salerno, for example, is an important city from a historical point of view, and could be one of the cases where the limit of 200 files is excessive. The categories are not all the same and therefore cannot all be treated in the same way. DenghiùComm (talk) 10:18, 24 July 2024 (UTC)
- A question and a solution for your problem:
- Who will categorize files in Category:Salerno when there are more than a certain number, but less than 200? Not the editors who now and then review some categories in Category:Categories requiring temporary diffusion, because they will focus on the very large categories. So what would be the purpose of a lower number?
- You can set a lower limit yourself, see Template:Diffusion by condition.
