Cette discussion sur le renommage de la catégorie est absurde : c'est un peu comme si on renommait la page "catégorie:Arbre" par la page "catégorie:Arbre, arboriculture" parce qu'un groupe de musique a sorti en 2011 un album intitulé "arbre". Ici, on applique le principe de "moindre surprise". Je n'ai pas fait la calcul mais j'imagine que les fichiers liés à la catégorie Paris (capitale Française) représentent au moins 99 % des fichiers liés à d'autre catégories "Paris". --> donc aucun intérêt. I oppose to the rename to "Paris, France". The French capital is beyond compare larger than other places of this name. However, Category:Paris (mythology) is important but less frequented category and can be linked with {{Cat see also}}. --ŠJů (talk) 03:37, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

Sorting

Sorry Verdy p, but I don't see any reason to add an asterisk to the categories Geography of Paris, Society of Paris...--Paris 16 (talk) 15:13, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

These are the few main categories used in lots of topics and in the root of all categories. Other categories are almost alwauys subtopics to be sorted.

Also you want to revert parent cvategroies that are scrupulously sorted. verdy_p (talk) 15:15, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

Is there a policy or guideline for sorting these "main categories" this way? If so, can you please point out where it is? If not, please don't use the asterisks for sorting like this. I remove them when I see them. Different people have different ideas about what the "main categories" are so it's never consistent, and changing the sort order like this makes it harder to find the categories. Chargements industriels de photos

Bonjour à tous,
Je regrette et condamne les chargements industriels (quelques milliers de photos) réalisés dans la présente category depuis Flickr ou d'autres sites. Dans la plupart des cas ce sont des photos banales de monuments déjà beaucoup photographiés tels que la tour Eiffel, Notre-Dame ou l'Arc de Triomphe qui n'apportent rien. Il y a aussi des photos banales dans des parcs et jardins, des photos de plats dans des restaurants. Il y a aussi des photos de sculptures ou de batiments non libres de droits du fait de la non liberté de panorama en France. Ces derniers feront l'objet de demande de suppression à ce titre. Il y a aussi des photos de sculptures ultra connues du Louvre telles que l'esclave mourant de Michel Ange. Et dans le lot, c'est vrai, quelques photos originales.
J'en ai reclassé un certain nombre (300 ?) dans des catégories plus précises. Mais cela devient ridicule. Quand on aura 5.000 (ou 10.000) photos de la tour Eiffel, on n'aura pas assez de points cardinaux pour les reclasser et à quoi cela peut-il servir! --Tangopaso (talk) 13:50, 18 December 2016 (UTC)
