Paintings?

Who can explain, what is difference between categories "Painting" and "Paintings"? Domitori 09:24, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In my eyes "painting is the practice of applying color to a surface (support) such as, e.g. paper, canvas, wood, glass, lacquer or concrete" (see description at Category:Painting), and paintings are the result of this practice. So Category:Painting should contain files which have to do with the act of paint, and Category:Paintings contains files which are the result of it (the pictures). --GeorgHH • talk   22:48, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
