Intention of the project?

I am thinking about providing some photos taken in Myanmar in 2009. I'm not sure whether I have the right understanding of the intention of the project (and this category). On the project page I only find one sentence: "OpenMyanmar project is to promote Myanmar ...". What does "promotion" exactly mean in this case? --Mosmas (talk) 12:24, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

It's the promotion of the name "Myanmar" as a brand itself since I have some friends who doesn't know much about Myanmar. There are less cc3 photos of Myanmar available online too. But didn't Aung San Suu Kyi herself state that she prefers the name "Burma" rather than "Myanmar", because “the name was changed without any reference to the will of the people”? --Mosmas (talk) 15:40, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

Oh.. this is not about Burma or Myanmar debate. If you prefer Burma, please use it. I just want the open media related with this country and people to be freely available online. This campaign is not related with any political bias. @=={Lionslayer> ^☎ 11:49, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

Ok, thanks. As many people in Germany I set my hope in a democratisation process in Myanmar (that seems to have started). And of course I don't want to support any campain contradicting this goal. I agree that freely available media is a good thing and I'll continue uploading my photos.
