Oppose Move is not completely compatible with definition of Category:Malayali people. --Foroa (talk) 10:37, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
Oppose to 'merge' into Category:Writers from Kerala as there are Malayalam speaking writhers originating in other (then Kerala) Indian Union States, among them Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu etc. Roland 19:29, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
Comment You may want to know that Category:English writers redirects to Category:Writers from England. This case should be similar. --Sreejith K (talk) 06:56, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
- I believe a good majority of photos in both Writers from Kerala and Malayalam writers will be common. The ones that fall out are the writers from Kerala who does not write in Malayalam (ex: Arundhati Roy) and the writers who write in Malayalam but lives outside Kerala. (ex: Maythil Radhakrishnan). These two categories help only to add confusion in categorizing and I think we should make a category called Malayali writers (Malayali - a term used to refer to the native speakers of Malayalam, originating from Kerala.) and redirect the current two to this category. --Sreejith K (talk) 07:11, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
- Common syntax is category:writers in French as in Category:Writers by language. Proper syntax as category:writers in Malayalam is the only way to avoid permanent mixup. --Foroa (talk) 07:58, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
