Second move request 2010-03-29

[edit]

I think a move to "TAM Airlines" is long overdue because the company clearly uses "TAM Airlines" in its English language literature. The Paraguayan "TAM Airlines" should be disambiguated as "TAM Airlines (Paraguay)"

While Foroa had some objections, I answered all of them on his talk page, so his objections no longer exist. See User_talk:Foroa#TAM_Airlines

While he said "This is not en:wikipedia, Commons has to work in an international context and most interwiki links refer to the parent company name (from at least previous year). You might have a point however, especially since the company did some effort to change/improve its branding. I will investigate that later."

Commons clearly gives supremacy to the English language, and this does not interfere with the international, multilingual nature of the Commons. As below, "TAM Airlines" is used in non-Portuguese contexts. Only "TAM Linhas Aereas" is used in Portuguese.

In non-English languages TAM Airlines *does* use the name "TAM Airlines"

While with Brazil it is a plain "TAM" logo. WhisperToMe (talk) 20:06, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
