Shouldn't this be "fish", not "fishes"? — Erin (talk) (FAQ) 22:51, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think that is valid, but I am not a native english speaker... (I hope...). Before naming the category, I have extracted the next conclusion: the term "fishes" is to define different species. But to define several fishes of the same type, the correct term is "fish". According to this, in case of this category the correct is "fishes". Look the references: [1] and [2].

Anyway, it looks like a difficult topic. The encyclopedia Encarta and Britannica uses the fish and fishes indifferently, which I suppose that it write correctly.... Encarta sample: "All fishes are vertebrates (animals with backbones) with gills for breathing. Most fish have fins for swimming, scales for protection, and a streamlined body for moving easily through the water". ¿?

I believe that also it might be "Freshwater aquarium fish species" (to avoid the discussion, in case of disagreement), Greetings from Spain, --Pristigaster 10:46, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
