I removed the category for the following reason: Only a few images and only the sub(sub)category Category:Cape Colony, and Category:Mau Mau Uprising are related to Africa. Especially other subcats of Category:Former colonies of the United Kingdom are not related to Africa: Following this category tree all images of United States, New Zeeland, India, Australia, Canada, Hongkong and Myanmar have the category Category:Africa as a overcategory, thats totaly wrong. Maybe we need a category: Category:British rule in Africa, but the whole british empire should not be categorized to one continent. Exactly the same applies for Asia, all subcategories related to Asia and Africa still categorized to the contries or the continent. --Martin H. (talk) 13:49, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and is see that i most other categories have to be removed:
Category:History of Australia: History of Austr. -> British empire -> Former colonies of the United Kingdom -> Australia -> History of Australia -- Category loop
Category:History of the Caribbean: same like Asia and Africa
Category:History of North America: same like Asia and Africa
