Color categorization

[edit]

I am using See also on this category and Category:Bisexuality icons because some of these are not blue, purple, pink, e.g. solid black ones. It seemed excessively to create subcategories under Bisexuality symbols for plain black, or different color combinations. User:Tuvalkin Amousey (talk) 13:14, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

See-also links are much less visible than parent and child cat relationships, as they are don’t show in categorization tools (like Cat-a-lot and Hot Cat) and are even hidden from most category browsing.
Some will say you got the categorization order wrong: Category:Blue, magenta, purple symbols should not be under Category:Bisexuality symbols but the other way around (if anything), as there can be blue+magenta+purple symbols that has nothing to do with bisexuality (example).
But it’s both ways, as you noted in your reversal of my edit — the right thing to do would be to create a suitable subcat for both cats, something like Category:Three-color bisexuality symbols — not excessive at all. But you rather go the edit war path, so good luck.
