Királdi Herz Zsigmond (1856-1903) Mezőcsáton született egy zsidó család gyermekeként. Budapesten kereskedelmi akadémiát végzett. 23 évesen gépgyárat létesített Miskolcon. 1891.július 9-től 1903-ig alapítója és vezérigazgatója a Magyar Általános Kőszénbánya (MÁK) Rt-nek.[1]
