English: Building at the southwest corner of First and Yesler (diagonally across the street from Pioneer Square Park). Not to be confused with the Mutual Life Building, which was initially known as the Yesler Building, It was constructed in 1890 by pioneer Henry Yesler to house the Bank of Commerce. The original plans, drawn by Elmer H. Fisher, called for a 5 story rusticated sandstone building, but only the first 2 floors were built initially. Architect Emil de Neuf oversaw the addition of the brick third floor, added c.1903 and reusing the original building's cornice. The building later housed the Scandanavian-American Bank and a Bartell Drugs store.
