English: Yagen (薬研?) is a crushing tool used in phytotherapy in Japan. It uses a wheel which is rolled back and forth to crush ingredients.
日本語: 薬研(やげん)は、 漢方薬などをつくるとき、薬種を細粉にひくのに用いる器具。「くすりおろし」ともいう。石製のほか、鉄製、木製、陶製がある 。かつては石製のものが多かったが、今日では金属製のものが多い。
