Deutsch: Die Wismut AG und ab 1954 die SDAG Wismut (Sowjetisch-Deutsche Aktiengesellschaft) war ein Bergbauunternehmen, das sich zwischen 1946 und 1990 zum weltweit drittgrößten Produzenten von Uran entwickelte. Das auf dem Territorium der Sowjetischen Besatzungszone und DDR an Standorten in Sachsen und Thüringen geförderte und aufbereitete Uran war die Rohstoffbasis der sowjetischen Atomindustrie. Im Oktober 1990 stornierte die UdSSR die im Juni 1990 zugesagte Abnahme und Bezahlung der Uranlieferung für das zweite Halbjahr 1990, für die Monate November und Dezember 1990. Das Nachfolgeunternehmen Wismut GmbH ist als Bundesunternehmen mit der Sanierung und Rekultivierung der Hinterlassenschaften des Wismut-Bergbaus betraut.

English: The Wismut AG/SDAG Wismut was a uranium mining company in East Germany producing 230,400 tonnes of uranium between 1947 and 1990. In 1991, it was transformed into the Wismut GmbH owned by the state of Germany which is now responsible for the recultivation of the former mining and milling areas. The head office of the SDAG Wismut / Wismut GmbH is in Chemnitz-Siegmar.

Русский: Совместное советско-германское предприятие Висмут добывало урановую руду с 1946 по 1990 годы. Всего было добыто 230400 тонн руды. В 1991 году предприятие было закрыто и на его базе создано государственное предприятие Wismut GmbH, основной задачей которого является рекультивация земель, нарушенных горными работами.
