Willow Creek Confrontation As railroad lines expanded through U.S., conflict occurred between competing lines. Michigan Central Railroad, with track in Porter County since 1851, briefly defied state militia and court orders (1874) to alloy Baltimore and Ohio Railroad to cross its track. Crossing was built at Willow Creek Station.
Note: as of 2021 the Michigan Central line is now Norfolk Southern RR. The B&O trackage is part of the CSX Railroad.
