English: Composite-hulled clipper, built by Charles Connell & Company, Scotstoun (yard No 13) for Albion Shipping Co, Glasgow. Dimensions: length × beam × depth = 211 × 33.2 × 60.6 ft (64.3 × 10.1 × 18.4 m). Tonnage 1,016 GRT. Hull with iron ribs, wood planking to above waterline then iron topsides. Originally a tea clipper, but she carried passengers on her maiden voyage 6 December 1863. After 1871 she entered the New Zealand emigrant trade. Sailing from Glasgow for Port Chalmers on her twelfth voyage, and carrying more than two hundred passengers, she went ashore on North Rock, off Cloughey, County Down, 12 Jan 1883. No lives were lost.
