English: The McDonnell Building was built on Tainui Street, Greymouth around 1906, and remodelled in 1908. The "Est. 1873" on its Edwardian facade refers to McDonnell's general store, which had operated on the site since 1873. The ground floor housed shops, the upper floor accommodation for the adjacent Revington's Hotel. It was damaged in the 1968 Inangahua Earthquake and the upper parapet, cornice, corbels, and curved top were removed. In the 1980s it was owned by the Mawhera Incorporation and renamed Waitaiki House, after a tributary of the Arahura River. It was demolished in October 2020.
