Vittorio Boron (1859 - 1940), Illustrator of Malta
Vittorio Boron was born in Turin in 1859. He was the son of a judge and a lawyer by profession but he never worked as a lawyer. Instead he travelled and spent his time writing and painting.
A number of his paintings of Malta were used to illustrate Frederick W. Ryan's first book "Malta - painted by Vittorio Boron - described by Frederick W. Ryan". The book was published in 1910 in London, and contains 20 of Boron's plates in full colour.
Nothing is known about how Ryan and Boron came together to give rise to this very interesting publication.
Vittorio Boron died in San Giorgio Canavese, in 1940.
