The motorcycle and engine (GB Patent No. 2623 of February 1900) designed by Ernest Zürcher and Herman Lüthi of Neuchâtel (Switzerland) were licensed by a large number of companies, such as Minerva, BSA or NSU. Zürcher-Lüthi & Cie. of St. Aubin near Neuchâtel themselves marketed the motorcycle as the Victoire ([1]).
