Deutsch: Das Verzascatal ist ein Tal im Schweizer Kanton Tessin und gehört zum Bezirk (distretto) Locarno. Im Verzascatal befinden sich die Gemeinden Mergoscia, Vogorno, Corippo, Lavertezzo, Brione (Verzasca), Gerra (Verzasca), Frasco und Sonogno. Ausser Mergoscia, das zum Kreis de:Navegna gehört, sind alle im Kreis (circolo) Verzasca zusammengeschlossen.
English: The Valle Verzasca is a valley in the en:Locarno district of the Canton of Ticino, Switzerland. It comprises the municipalities of Mergoscia, Vogorno, Corippo, Lavertezzo, Brione (Verzasca), Gerra (Verzasca), Frasco and Sonogno with a total population of 3,200 (as of 2004). Mergoscia is at the geographical center of the Ticino, and none of the passes out of the valley cross cantonal or national borders. The valley is situated between the Leventina and the Maggia. The Verzasca River forms the artificial Lago di Vogorno near the entrance of the valley, formed by the Verzasca Dam before joining the Ticino River in the Magadino plain.
Italiano: La Valle Verzasca è una valle svizzera del Canton Ticino. Appartiene al distretto di Locarno e comprende i comuni di Mergoscia, Vogorno, Corippo, Lavertezzo, Brione Verzasca, Gerra Verzasca, Frasco e Sonogno. Tranne Mergoscia, appartenente al circolo di Navegna, tutti questi comuni sono parte del circolo di Verzasca. Situata tra la Valle Leventina e la Val Maggia, include Mergoscia, centro geometrico del cantone; è l'unica valle del cantone che non comprende un confine di Stato. Circondata da alte montagne, è collocata a nord del Lago Maggiore e si estende da sud a nord per circa 25 km. Ospita un bacino artificiale, il lago die Vogorno, formato da una diga alta 220 metri e larga 380.
