This category contains items related to tuberculosis huts in The Netherlands. In the first half of the 20th century, sanatoriums were not the only treatment facilities in the Netherlands for tuberculosis patients. Especially lower income individuals could buy, borrow or rent small cabins, in which they could reside during their treatment. In the early days, these were called lighal (lie-down-hall) or ligtent (lie-down-tent). This category includes both the small types of lighal (known as "tbc-huisjes" in the 21st century), and the bigger ones in which multiple people could rest during daytime.
