Tower Records #198 (formerly Harbor Roller Rink and Liquor Barn) was a former Tower Records record shop at 1726 Superior Avenue, Costa Mesa, California. Originally built in 1949 {1} and opened as Harbor Roller Rink on March 30, 1950. {2} The building operated as a rollerskating rink until the early 1980s, briefly fronting as a Liquor Barn convenient store in the mid-80's before re-opening as Tower Records #198 in the early 1990's. {2} The store closed in 2006 as a result of the music retailer's bankruptcy filings. Although the building sold in 2007 {1} to Walgreens drugstore, it remained abandoned until its demolition in 2013.
