English: A formal memorial to the 26th President of the United States Theodore Roosevelt is located in the northern part of Theodore Roosevelt Island, Washington D.C. It was designed by New York architect Eric Gugler (1889-1974), and includes an oval plaza with two fountains surrounded by water-filled moat with footbridges. The central point of the Gugler's plaza is the 17-foot bronze sculpture of Theodore Roosevelt by Paul Manship at the end of the plaza with four 21-foot granite tablets (two on each side) containing Roosevelt's passages on Nature, Manhood, Youth, and the State.
