The Priest (Urizen) who represents false religion kneeling and bowing over an altar with dark sun above
We see from behind a figure, probably male, kneeling and bowing over an altar. He may be praying. His feet are prominently displayed beneath the hem of a garment that extends only to his waist. The altar, perhaps made of stone, has a top that could be an open book, seen only along its lower edge. The mottled ground on which the figure kneels may be covered with grass or lichens. Above the figure is a large disc (probably meant to be a globe) covered with dark patches suggestive of unreadable inscriptions, hieroglyphics, or simply chaos. This may be a dark or occluded sun. Four beams of dark radiance extend from this sun, diagonally in relation to the sides of the design. The area surrounding the globe is probably the void of space. The dark area beneath the globe, rising from the left to the right margin and above the figure's head, may be a distant mountain. The figure might be either Urizen (note the white hair) or a priest who represents false religion.
