English: The Scientific Monthly was an American science magazine published from 1915 to 1957. It continued the academic and scholarly tradition of The Popular Science Monthly after the sale of that magazine and the shift of its focus to a general audience. Psychologist James McKeen Cattell, the former publisher and editor of The Popular Science Monthly, was the original founder and editor. In 1958, The Scientific Monthly was absorbed by the journal Science.
