- During WWII in charter for Dutch government
- The war W/T callsign: IIKP
- 19.11.1941 German raider Kormoran claimed to be the Straat Malakka for Australian HMAS Sydney. In the battle that followed both ships were lost.
- 05.1946 Back in service for KPM
- 1947 Sold to KJCPL
- 1973 Scrapped in Shanghai
