English: This gated, off-limits work area is located to the south of the center of the stadium at the bottom of the slope. The hippodrome ("race track") is believed to have been there before it was washed away by a hydraulic event of the Alfeios. A second fenced-in work area and modern building are located to the south of the Leonidaion, east of the southwest building.
