The Robert Burns statue in Cass Square, Hokitika, was commissioned in 1923 and unveiled June 4th that year by the Mayor of Hokitika, the politician James Craigie, and the chief of the Westland Caledonian Society. It was the fourth Robert Burns statue to be erected in New Zealand.
