English: The church was originally built as a Church of Ireland Protestant Church of St Anne on the Athy Road, and was constructed to mark the election of Colonel Henry Bruen as MP in 1841. The church was purchased from Mr Bruen of Oak Park in 1926, and the building was relocated to its current site in Graiguecullen, overseen by the architects Messers Foley & Sullivan. The foundation stone of this relocation was laid on 7 June 1928, and the church opened a year later.
