Deutsch: Am Münchner Petersplatz 1 befindet sich die Pfarrkirche Sankt Peter, deren Turm im Volksmund der Alte Peter genannt wird und die zu den Wahrzeichen Münchens gezählt wird. Sie gilt als die älteste Pfarrkirche Münchens, die eng mit dem Ursprung Münchens verbunden ist. Freistehende, dreischiffige Basilika mit Dreikonchenchor und mächtiger Westturmanlage, über romanischem Vorgängerbau gotische Kirche, 13.–15. Jh., Turmneugestaltung, 1607–1621, Chorumbau, von Isaak Bader, 1630–1636, Langhauserweiterung, von Heinrich Schön d. J. und Hans Heiß, 1640/41 und 1653/54, Innenraumredaktion, von Ignaz Anton Gunetzrhainer, 1730–1756, Wiederaufbau nach Kriegszerstörung, durch Rudolf Esterer und Erwin Schleich, 1946–1954; mit Ausstattung.
English: The parish church of St. Peter is at Munich Peter's Square 1. It's tower is popularly known as the old Peter and is considered one of the landmarks of Munich. It is considered the oldest parish church of Munich, which is closely connected with the origin of Munich. Detached, three-aisled basilica with a three-icon choir and a mighty western tower complex, over a Romanesque predecessor gothic church, 13th-15th cent. The tower was restored from 1607-1621, choir from 1630-1636 by Isaak Bader. The nave was extended by Heinrich Schön d. J. and Hans Heiß, 1640/41 and 1653/54, Interior Room, by Ignaz Anton Gunetzrhainer, 1730-1756. The rebuilding after the War was done by Rudolf Esterer and Erwin Schleich, 1946-1954.
