There has not been any veneration at this well since the 1920s or 1930s according to local resident and historian Philip Lynch[1] who also said the locals (including his family) drew water from it until the 1950s.
The holy well is apparently described in Humphrey O'Sullivan's Cín Lae Amhlaoibh (published in abbreviated, translated form as "Diary of an Irish Countryman").
