The "St. Elizabeth" building is on the Uptown River corner of Napoleon Avenue and Prytania Street, in Uptown New Orleans. It opened in 1865 as a school, and in 1870 became an orphanage, "Saint Elizabeth's Home for Girls", which it remained until 1989. After some usage as apartments, it was purchased 1993 by author Anne Rice, who owned it as a residence and showplace for a decade. In 2005 it was converted into condominums.
