English: Apartment buildings, appeared during 1944-1991 in Tallinn, Estonia.
- 1944-1958 - "Stalinka" apartment buildings. Rooms are huge with high ceilings. Nowadays it is fashionable to upgrade with installing sauna and jacuzzi to bathroom and resell such apartment more expensive than apartments in new house.
- 1958 - 1970's - "Khrushchevka" - have the worst building quality ever with too many construction lacks (Soviet code required to build them in 2 months, but actually they were built in 9-12 days), as Nikita Khrushchev ordered to build without luxuries. Nowadays their life cycle expired, but Estonian authorities doesn't accept them as uninhabitable; but Russia and Ukraine are demolishing those houses.
- 1970's-1991 - "Brezhnevka". High-rise apartment houses with improved living conditions - no more plywood walls or whistling water pipes or horrorable gas stoves. As inheritance they left outdated elevators, which are big headache nowadays due to budget.
- Plattenbau (1960's - 1991) - commonly built in Lasnamäe and construction left the same despite leaders in USSR were different during their building. As inheritance they left outdated communications and elevators, which upgrading hit on the wallet.
