Siege of Hajipur (1575-76)
English: Reconquest of Hajipur. – After hundreds of soldiers died in an outbreak of plague in Gaur (Bengal) in 1575, the Mughals retreated headlong to Bhagalpur. Da'ud and his cousin Junaid Karrani seized the opportunity, reconquered large parts of Bengal and finally regained control of the fortress of Hajipur, which they had lost a year earlier. Muzaffar Khan, who had been appointed governor of the region by Akbar, is trying to reconquer the castle. He is the rider who sends the men off in boats.
In order to conquer the Hajipur fortress, 300 fighters are brought across the Gandak river in boats at night , and attack the enemy from land the next morning when the remaining Mughal troops attack from boats. – The picture shows the Bengalis fleeing in boats.
