English: The second Shippingsport Bridge, also called the LaSalle-Oglesby Bridge, was a vertical-lift drawbridge opened in November 1929 and closed in August 2001. It superseded the old (1872) Shippingsport Bridge nearby. This 1929 bridge originally carried U.S. 51; then was renumbered to Business U.S. 51 in the late 1950s or late 1960s, when a new bridge opened downstream; then later renumbered Illinois 351. It was torn down so that the third Shippingsport Bridge could be built in the same location.
