Located at 8 East Gorham Street in Madison, Wisconsin, the Sheridan Apartments were designed by Claude and Starck in American Craftsman style and built in 1916 (see the Property Record online).
The four-story apartment building features a red wire brick exterior, front sun porches with casement windows, replacement one-over-one windows, stone trim including a decorative arched trim surround at the front door and caps on the buttresses flanking the front windows of the sun porches, four-story bay windows on the sides, hipped roofs on the porches with wide overhanging eaves, and a low-slope roof enclosed by a parapet.
The building is a contributing structure in the Mansion Hill Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
