English: Shand's Emporium in Manchester Street, Christchurch, is significant as one of the oldest commercial buildings in the central city and one of the few to survive from the early period of Pakeha colonisation. Unlike other timber buildings of that era, Shand's was never replaced by a more substantial stone or brick building. Owned by Antony Gough and in the way of his The Terrace development, it was sold to a heritage trust and relocated to Manchester Street.
