English: A sumptuous illuminated manuscript of the Shahnameh begun by the father of Shah Tahmasp I of Persia for his son, probably about 1522. Work continued into the 1530s, and the 258 original miniatures are now dispersed. Also known as the "Houghton Shahnameh".
