English: Saturnus was an iron-hulled barque. W. Doxford and Sons built her at Sunderland, launching her in 1876 as Scottish Hero for McIlwraith MacEacharn & Co, London. Dimensions: 196.6 × 33 × 19.1 ft (59.9 × 10 × 5.8 m) and tonnages 911 GRT, 896 NRT and 795 tons under deck. 1893 sold to A.H. Arnold, Brake, Germany, and renamed Saturnus. 1905 sold to Norwegian owners and 19814 sold to Swedish owners. 1915 foundered in the North Atlantic on voyage from Miramichi with a cargo of timber for Cork. The crew was picked up by the British steamer Colorado.[1][2][3]
