Built in 1887, this Queen Anne-style house at 319 North Pinckney Street in Madison, Wisconsin, at the corner of North Gorham Street, was constructed for Samuel Higham and his wife Clara (see the Property Record online). It was renovated in 1903 and is presently used as an apartment building.

The house features a hipped roof, corner octagonal turret with a steeply pitched hipped roof, a chamfered corner on the other side of the front facade, one-over-one replacement windows, two-story bay windows on the side facades below gables, hipped dormers, asbestos shingle siding covering the original wood exterior cladding, a double front entry door with a transom and gabled awning with decorative brackets, a rusticated stone base, and decorative brackets at the top of the chamfered corner of the house.

The building is a contributing structure in the Mansion Hill Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
