This category is for playing cards of the Salzburger (also einfachdeutsche) pattern which is a variant of the German deck. They are used in Austria and northern Italy.
The original card design emerged around 1850 (source: PATTERN SHEET 56 by the International Playing Card Society, 13 Sep 2010).
