Saehan was a Samsung-owned South Korean manufacturing company which, among other things, was one of the world's largest OEM makers of compact cassetes. In the 1990s, after the older companies had divested their cassette plants, they outsourced manufacturing to Saehan, SKC, RAKS and other second-tier companies. The distinctive Saehan clear case design was used for low-end ferric tapes branded Sony, Maxell, Memorex, BASF and many others.
