English: STOL is an acronym for Short Take-Off and Landing, used in the aircraft industry to describe airplanes with very short runway requirements. A subset of these are Vertical take off (VTOL) aircraft. Helicopters, airships and rockets are not included here, because their STOL capability is assumed.
