English: In the collaborative writing project SCP Foundation, SCP-173 is an object constructed from concrete, rebar and spray paint that attempts to kill anybody in its presence when eye contact with it is broken. It is notable for being the subject of the first short story in the collaborative writing project. The SCP was inspired by, and originally based on an image of, the artwork Untitled 2004 by Izumi Kato, but out of respect for the artist the image was removed and the sculpture is no longer the canonical appearance of SCP-173.
