English: The Ryōunkaku (Cloud-Surpassing Pavilion or Cloud-Surpassing Tower) was Japan's first western-style skyscraper that stood in the Asakusa district of Tokyo from 1890 until its demolition following the Great Kanto earthquake of 1923.
