Rudolf Engel (1903 in Berlin - 1993 Berlin), Kommunist (zum Schein in die NSDAP eingetreten), enttarnt. Konnte in die Tschechoslowakei fliehen. Von 1950-55 Direktor der Akademie der Künste (Ost-) Berlin. Danach im Außenministerium der DDR. Da oft der Vorname fehlt und er für Bertolt Brecht einiges organisieren musste, wird er gelegentlich mit Erich Engel verwechselt.
