The word round can have several meanings, such as “round like a circle” (→circular or ring-shaped), “round like a roll or drum” (→cylindrical) or “round like a ball” (→spherical). It can also serve as a distinction from the usual shape of the object in question, e.g. “round, not rectangular” or “round, not flat” or “round, without edges”. More precise meanings of the word round are generally preferrable:
